‍ ‍Design

A garden is not only a collection a plants, it is a space we move through and relate to daily. It is a habitat, a place of color and texture, and a measure of the passage of time and season. To design the right garden for you and your space, we will discuss key points: your goals, your aesthetic, the existing pain points of the space, the constraints surrounding the project, and then proceed to layout and design to create a space and garden that reflects your vision.

I work mostly with natives, because they are best suited to thrive in the unique environment of the Outer Cape, but do not comply strictly to this planting pallet. I like to work with structure and texture, color, shape, and to consider the rest of the senses: the sounds, smells, and overall feel of the space. I believe gardens should be beautiful in all their seasons, impactful from afar, and striking in their finest details.

Wildflowers and Meadows

If you’ve got a space you would like to develop into a wildflower field or meadow, we provide a few services.

Consultation: Well evaluate your space, provide instruction on how to create a meadow, and tailor a seed mix for your specific space and environment

Lawn to meadow: there are 40 million acres of lawn in the US. If only half of that were converted to meadow, there would be 20 million acres more of pollinator friendly, species rich wildlife habitat. If you’d like to convert your lawn, or part of your lawn, well make a plan and do it all at once or in a phased process. Become a part of positive change and start rewinding.
